New Hampshire State Rep. Cynthia Chase Opposes a Free Society.

New Hampshire State Representative Cynthia Chase believes that the principles of liberty, sound money, and free markets are a threat to her state and society as a whole. Her rather unflattering viewpoints on libertarian principles stems from the growing movement known as the Free State Project. Here is her opinion on the Free State Project and freedom as a whole:

“In the opinion of this Democrat, Free Staters are the single biggest threat the state is facing today. There is, legally, nothing we can do to prevent them from moving here to take over the state, which is their openly stated goal. In this country you can move anywhere you choose and they have that same right. What we can do is to make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave. One way is to pass measures that will restrict the “freedoms” that they think they will find here. Another is to shine the bright light of publicity on who they are and why they are coming.”

The bold portion of the quote is quite alarming, albeit not surprising. The desire of politicians to strip away our remaining freedoms and civil liberties becomes more apparent everyday. Tom Woods discusses this issue in a little more detail in the video embedded below.

I’m interested to find the source of this quotation.

    • Allysha,

Her original post on Blue Hampshire can be found here.

      • Jeff,
I appreciate the source. None of the “news” sources on the internet seem to think the source is important.

        • Tom, Substitute Free Staters with any other ethnic, religous, or any other group, and this would have been all over the news, and caused an uproar, but since it is against a conservative group, you hear crickets.

            KM,

You are absolutely right. The hypocrisy and double standards are quite astounding.

          Tom,

My pleasure. This type of stuff needs to be disseminated so that more people can finally realize the true mindset of most politicians.

The blog post was removed of course. Liberals always cover their tracks when their misdeeds come home to roost.

      • Seems her comment is 404 compliant. Maybe her presence in office will be 404 compliant too. Hope to see her replaced by a champion of the poor and downtrodden who ALSO champions Liberty.

A few years ago, a lot of people would have said the same of the Massachusetts hoards resettling in New Hampshire. Ms. Chase is from Rhode Island. I miss what New Hampshire was before these carpetbaggers crossed the borders. The governor is from Massachusetts. Lynch is from Massachusetts. Now New Hampshire is blue — blue, broke, and bitchy. Someone should have done something thirty years ago to make New Hampshire unwelcoming to second tier politicians from other states.

To hear an elected representative, who has sworn to defend and uphold the Constitution — suggest that people who believe in limited government, unalienable rights, and individual liberties are a threat to our state… paints a very disturbing picture on how she envisions her leadership position.

At least she is honest in letting everybody know that she is nothing but a communist.

She does not want any conservatives in her state, well fine lets just look how well liberalism is working. New Hampshire takes in Tax Revenue of appox. 9 Billion dollars, they spend 12 Billion each year. they have a GDP to debt ratio of 17%. Compare that to another state that is on the verge of Collapse like California there GDP to debt ratio is 20%, Michigan is another state on the verge of Bankruptcy with an 18% GDP to Debt ratio. Looking good Ms Chase.

Some Free State participants noticed her post on Blue Hampshire and wrote about it on Dec 25th at FreeKeene.com and they are the ones who should be the ones to get credit for it.

Then another FSPer created a graphic of her with the quote on it that went viral on FaceBook.

Then the NH Tea Party wrote about it on Dec 27th.

Subsequently, there were posts on Reason, Granite Grok, Tom Woods, and Breitbart, which then was picked up by Rush and talked about on his radio show.

But the credit goes to the FSPers at Free Keene et al, for calling initial attention to this.

  9. This isn’t Cynthia Chases state. It’s MINE. As a 10th generation NH native I have absolute certainty that Chase isn’t one of us but just another carpet bagger who moved here from somewhere else and wants to make NH as crappy as the place she came from. Just like carpet bagger Boston Democrat liberal elite no tax paying Maggie Hassan.
